About this role

Overview

Post-doctoral Associate, Humphries lab, Division of Innate Immunity, UMass Chan medical school

Two postdoctoral research positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Fiachra Humphries, part of the newly established Division of Innate Immunity in the Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA.

Responsibilities

We invite applications from highly motivated doctoral-level scientists interested in immunometabolism, virology and neuroscience. The Humphries Lab is dedicated to elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin innate immune responses with a focus on immunometabolism and cell death, exploring how dysregulation of these pathways contributes to diseases and disorders and developing novel approaches to resolve inflammation and treat human diseases. Our research is supported by 3 NIH awards R01AI201773, R01AI199543, R21AI193655 and generous startup funds from UMass Chan. More information can be found on the lab website https://www.umassmed.edu/humphries-lab

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in immunology, or a related biomedical science, obtained within the past two years. Ideal candidates will have strong technical proficiency in immunological methods and a demonstrated record of research productivity, including at least one first-author publication. Prior experience with in vivo mouse models is advantageous but not required.

Applicants should send a letter (via email) describing their current research activities and their interest in this position, a CV (including publications), and contact information for three references, including your Ph.D. supervisor, by email to [email protected]
