About Us: Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC). The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers. 


Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and clear faults that occur with the baggage handling system in a timely manner. 
  • Report any issues found that could potentially lead to additional system failures. 
  • Perform periodic inspections of the baggage conveyor equipment. 
  • Complete entry level Maintenance Mechanic duties as needed. 
  • Assist with operational issues during outages or failures.
  • Alert team members and Supervisors of any potential unsafe conditions. 
  • Comply with the company safety program and training. 
  • Maintaining tools and parts inventory in a neat and organized manner. 
  • Properly documenting work completed each day using an established computerized work order system. 
  • Performing general cleaning and housekeeping duties of all BHS work areas. 
  • Participates in winter snow removal operations.

Required experience:  

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
  • Candidate should possess good mechanical skills and some electrical skills are preferred. 
  • Prior experience working with mechanical components relating to conveyer systems is preferred. 

Required skills:  

  • Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds in small spaces for extended periods of up to 15 minutes, multiple times each day. 
  • Report any issues found that could potentially lead to additional system failures. 
  • Complete entry level Maintenance Mechanic duties as needed. 
  • Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
