The Florida League of Cities is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster - Medical Only to join our Workers' Compensation team. In this role, you will manage medical-only workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution, ensuring exceptional service to injured employees and our member organizations throughout Florida.

What You'll Do
- Manage and investigate medical-only workers' compensation claims
- Determine coverage and evaluate claim compensability
- Gather information from claimants, employers, medical providers, witnesses, and other parties
- Maintain accurate claim documentation and timely file management
- Analyze medical records and claim information to support claim decisions
- Provide outstanding customer service to injured workers and member organizations
- Handle claim correspondence and respond to inquiries regarding claim status and benefits
- Pursue applicable recoveries, including subrogation and other recovery opportunities
- Maintain compliance with Florida workers' compensation regulations and industry best practices
The position supports the Workers' Compensation claim unit by managing claims that typically do not involve lost time from work.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida Workers' Compensation Claims License
- High school diploma or GED with relevant workers' compensation experience, or a degree in business, insurance, or a related field
- Experience handling Medical Only claims, workers' compensation claims administration, or related insurance claims work
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Florida Workers' Compensation statutes and fee schedules
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience within a third-party administrator, insurance carrier, or self-insured environment
