Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77041This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of different industrial machines. This candidate will need to be a quick learner and show their mechanical understanding and skills to assist with production and minimize machine downtime.

DESCRIPTION

Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant.
Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition identified in the workplace.
Works with Safety first, understands and follows all Safety procedures, wears PPE and meets training requirements.
Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
Inspect machines, engines, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
Familiar with pneumatics automation, transmitters, control valves, flow/level/pressure/temperature switches.
Troubleshoot downtime in support to production and meet standards.
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
Must work in a team environment to find solutions.
Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
Maintain the assigned areas clean and organized.
Follow housekeeping standards and 5’s methodology.
Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
Conduct appropriate pre-task planning activities to identify hazards and act to control the hazards prior to beginning work.

COMPETENCIES

Strong mathematical skills, understanding metric system and conversions.
Mechanical ability to run equipment and knowledge to use hand tools.
Ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to practice and read instruction, blueprints etc.
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
Mental alertness to identify and react to machine processes, quality and safety issues.
Very good communication skills and problem-solving ability.
Dependable and Punctual.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and safety.
Familiarity with FSSC 22000:2005, GMPs, LOTO and HACCP are preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of industrial mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
Competence in operating basic tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measure, scale).
Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
