The Supervisor position reports to the Program Manager and is accountable for the field supervision of the Downtown Street Clean Team and all deliverables listed on the city contract for that program, including supervising crews, driving a truck with mounted equipment, overseeing equipment maintenance and ensuring crew safety.

We are looking for someone who insists on maintaining a positive attitude and enjoys supporting a diverse group of people. If this job is for you, you are a dedicated and experienced Supervisor, willing to oversee the Downtown Street Clean Team, aimed at maintaining safe, clean, and accessible sidewalks and right-of-ways within designated service areas.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives truck with mounted water pressure and other equipment to locations throughout the city
Organizes staff and equipment to maximize efficiency at job sites
Assigns workers to crews and assigns crews to specific projects
Maintains a clean driving record, insurance coverage, and the ability to be accepted under the organization’s policy-MVP
Provides daily pre-job technical and safety instructions and work locations specific information to team members
Maintains continuous availability by cell phone during normal work hours for technical instructions and emergencies
Conducts and documents daily staging safety meetings, including preparation for hazards specific to work locations and any applicable seasonal safety hazards
Ensures all crew members report to work dressed appropriately to protect themselves from exposure to usual and or/or predictable physical and environmental conditions found in workplace
Enforces organization’s policy for any crew members who are in violation of safety protocols, including dress code
Ensures Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by supervisor and all crew members while working
Ensures that crew members remain properly hydration and that breaks are taking throughout the day as require for legal compliance and safety
Uses strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and give instructions
Facilitates team training and provides safety instructions before team deployment
Manage administrative duties that are assigned by the Program Manager
Inspects street and other work areas and provides technical instructions to crew members as needed
As needed, responds to citizen request and complaints
Works with the Program Manager to identify areas of interest and work assignments
Informs Program Manager of any equipment issues and schedules routine maintenance as needed
Assists with new processes, program improvement and training for DSC Team
Perform other program related tasks and duties as needed or requested
Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and deliver clear instructions to members of the team
Able to safely drive truck with mounted equipment
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, light rain)
Able to work effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds
Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with co-workers, staff, leadership, community members and partners in a courteous, professional manner
Strong ability to work independently and follow directions
Skilled at remaining task and goal oriented

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in program management, preferably in urban cleanliness or community development initiatives
Lived experience previously incarcerated or homeless is a plus
Experience working with vulnerable populations and implementing workforce development programs is desirable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To promote the health and safety of its employees, those we serve and our local communities, Five Keys requires that all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or adhere to all weekly testing and safety measures. Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
Frequent talking and hearing conversations
Long periods of walking, sitting at a desk and/or computer station
Lifting items that weigh up to 25 lbs.; reaching, bending, carrying and stooping within the daily routine of tasks and activities

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Moderate to high noise level, including noise caused by the use of tools and machinery
Work environment varies from site to site
Some personal safety risk working in underserved communities
Outdoor conditions which weather variations from cold weather, including rain, hail, etc., and hot conditions when temperatures may be in excess of 100 degrees
Operation of truck with pressure washers mounted
