Fire Security Services (FSS) is a privately owned market leader in fire protection and building compliance across New Zealand. Based in Whangarei branch, this role suits an experienced Alarm Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, strong customer service and keeping people and property safe.

Roles

We are seeking two Fire Alarm Technicians to join our Whangarei based team servicing the Northland region.

What you’ll do

  • Diagnose, service and repair fire alarm system faults, with occasional minor installation work.
  • Take part in a rostered after-hours callout rotation.
  • Installation work as and when required.
  • Work on common NZ fire alarm systems, including Pertronic, Ampac, MX and aspirating systems such as VESDA.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and the wider FSS team.

What you bring

  • 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with fire alarm systems with at least one year working in New Zealand.
  • Strong knowledge of NZS 4512, the Building Act and relevant fire alarm compliance requirements.
  • NZQA Level 4 in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, would be an advantage, but not required.
  • A clean, full NZ driver license and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence working at heights, with a clean criminal and driving record.
  • Great organisation skills.
  • Clear technical English and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
