DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) of virtual orientation software for KLLM, which includes working with other Departments outside of Virtual Orientation
- Provide weekly Online/ Virtual Driver Orientation for new hire experienced drivers
- Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods, that include group or individualized instruction as well as computer programs
- Facilitate completion of pre-employment requirements (drug screens, hair follicle test, DOT physicals, CDL copies, LUMA etc.)
- Effectively communicate using multiple training methods (visual and auditory)
- Plan and prepare relevant lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of multi-skill participants
- Relate well to different ages and ability levels
- Maintain an online classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the skills level and interests of all participants
- Follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives
- Provide assistance and instruction to participants on company policy, training related matters, equipment and resources
- Communicate with Recruiting on status of virtual learners
- Manage and motivate participants under strict deadlines in fast paced environment
- Complete and maintain appropriate new hire registration, attendance, assessment records, and ensure timely submission of completed courses
- Work directly with other department managers to ensure curriculum is up to date
- Team-player who can collaborate with colleagues
- Make onboarding transition complete with ensuring truck assignments are successful
- Work with Operations, Maintenance and Driver to ensure seamless handoff
- Contribute to and promote driver retention efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by Orientation Manager
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal; must be able to communicate effectively through correct written grammar and usage
- Must be highly computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability and initiative to learn and adapt to new ways of deploying classroom content
- Energetic personality
- Detail oriented
- High degree of organizational ability with minimal direction
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Ability to relate to drivers in various stages of their driving career
- Demonstrated ability to perform patience and professionalism under demanding circumstances
- Works well independently and in a team-based environment
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Desire and ability to self-educate on industry standards and make recommendations
- Highly dependable
- Professional dress and appearance
- Able to support company vision and organizational awareness
- Knowledge of industry safety compliance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license
