At the core of Exoticca's brand equity is the commitment to "creating life milestones." We believe in delivering best-value trips, exploring unique destinations, curating extraordinary travel experiences, and demonstrating genuine care for both our customers and the planet.

We are a professional, dynamic, multicultural team in rapid international growth, seeking new partners to help us create the best and most forward-thinking travel company of our generation.

What is our proposal?

As a Head of Finance, you will lead the transformation of Exoticca's finance operations, building the team, processes, and systems that will power our next chapter of international accelerated growth.

You will be the top stakeholder for Finance across the organization – the person the person who drives alignment across teams and keeps finance-related projects moving, so the rest of the business can rely on finance as a true partner.. We are looking for a hands-on leader who combines people leadership (coaching, developing, and growing a high-performing team) with operational rigor (robust processes, cash-flow optimization, audit readiness, scalable systems) to turn a fast-moving finance function into a resilient one.

And importantly, you won't be starting from scratch: you'll inherit a team with best-of-breed talent already in place, anchored by strong Accounting and Treasury Managers, giving you a solid foundation to build on from day one.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and reinforce the finance team, strengthening individual team members and fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture across corporate finance and accounting.
  • Lead the transformation of finance operations, redesigning and implementing robust, scalable processes (closing, reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR) that can absorb the pace of the business' growth.
  • Be the top point of contact for Finance across the organization, partnering closely with every department to make sure finance keeps pace with the business.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of the company’s core financial data (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Implement a robust treasury system, optimizing short-term rolling liquidity and ensuring the process scales smoothly as transaction volumes grow
  • Manage Working Capital dynamics, payables, receivables, and FX exposure across our international markets.
  • Reinforce the team by hiring, coaching, and developing finance professionals, building a strong bench to support the company's next stage of growth.
  • Spearhead external financial audits, empowering the team to deliver timely and compliant documentation.
  • Ensure robust internal controls, tax compliance, and risk management across all operating jurisdictions.
  • Drive financial tech-stack automation (e.g., NetSuite/Oracle, Embat, etc.) to build a scalable finance organization as Exoticca grows globally.
  • Build and maintain unit-economics and KPI dashboards (contribution margin per trip/destination, CAC, cost of sales) that inform pricing, product-mix, and commercial decisions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Product to build and stress-test business cases for new destinations, markets, or growth initiatives, assessing investment ROI and margin impact before roll-out.
  • Own the revenue-recognition policy for prepaid bookings – deferred revenue, cancellations, and refund liabilities – ensuring accurate recognition as trips are delivered, in line with IFRS 15.
  • Ensure compliance with travel-sector regulatory requirements (e.g., EU Package Travel Directive, bonding/insolvency-protection schemes such as ATOL in the UK) and manage the related financial guarantees and insurance.
  • Negotiate and monitor payment terms with airline, hotel, and tour-operator suppliers to optimize the cash-conversion cycle and manage supplier concentration and credit risk.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally starting with a meaningful tenure at a leading audit firm or similar, where a deep foundation in accounting was built, followed by roles in fast-growing scale-ups, tech marketplaces, or e-commerce environments, with a strong focus on finance operations.
  • Proven, hands-on track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing finance professionals across financial management and accounting.
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing robust financial processes and controls able to scale with rapid business growth.
  • Experience coordinating external audits with top-tier audit firms through team delegation and structured preparation.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, comfortable being the primary point of contact for Finance across the organization.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a strong plus.
Nice to have
  • Experience supporting fundraising processes and Board reporting in a VC-backed company.
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition and regulatory requirements in the travel sector (e.g., IFRS 15, package-travel/bonding regulations) is a plus.

  • Competitive compensation package in line with job responsibilities and experience.
  • Additionally, we propose the use of flexible compensation management for diet, transportation, private health insurance with Cobee.
  • On-site work model: offices in Barcelona City.
