Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Certified Caregiver to join our compassionate care team at Everlasting Services. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in assisted living, memory care, and/or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) environments. This role requires a high level of empathy, integrity, respect, and professionalism to provide individualized care that promotes residents’ dignity, safety, and overall well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive status to nurse.
  • Support residents with TBI and memory impairments using therapeutic communication and redirection techniques.
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation per facility policy and state regulations.
  • Assist residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional support following care plans.
  • Encourage engagement in activities that promote social interaction, memory stimulation, and physical wellness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, following infection control and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with nurse and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care.

  Qualifications:   

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (current and valid)
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (must provide proof)
  • Proof of being TB-free (2 negative test or current chest X-ray)
  • Memory Care Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Caregiver Certificate
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism

 Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to assist residents with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
  • Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to monitor resident safety and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to perform job duties safely while adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.
