Position Summary

 

The Warehouse Receiving Laborer is responsible for assisting with the accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, unloading, and organization of incoming shipments. This position ensures products are properly handled, counted, labeled, and stored while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.


What You'll Do 

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from trucks, containers, and other deliveries.
  • Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Verify quantities and products against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documents.
  • Properly label and identify received merchandise.
  • Move products to designated storage locations using pallet jacks, carts, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in assigned warehouse locations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized receiving areas.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect products to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Ensure products are handled safely to prevent damage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
  • Assist other warehouse departments with loading, picking, packing, shipping, and general labor duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Bring 

Required 

 

  • Previous warehouse or receiving experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull products throughout the warehouse.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic ability to read and understand shipping and receiving documents.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.


Preferred 

  • Previous warehouse, receiving, shipping, or distribution experience.
  • Experience working with inventory and receiving procedures.
  • Familiarity with packing slips, purchase orders, and inventory documentation.
  • Previous experience operating a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately count and verify incoming merchandise.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience handling industrial, plumbing, or building supply products is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends when required.

Target Compensation Range: The posted pay range of $16/hr represents the anticipated hiring range for this position. Individual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, internal compensation practices, and other job-related business considerations, consistent with applicable law.
