Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Summary

The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is seeking applications for one full-time, 12-month, tenure-trackAssistant/Associate Professor in Audiology. Preferred teaching and clinical interest areas include adult diagnostics, vestibular sciences, electrophysiology, and cochlear implants. For both positions, responsibilities will be divided across areas of administration, teaching, scholarship/research, and service. Other specific duties may include:

Teaching:
Provide direct clinical supervision of students
Serve as the Instructor of Record for several graduate-level courses
Serve as the Instructor of Record for undergraduate-level courses, including Anatomy and Physiology and Introduction to Audiology.
 

Scholarship/Research:
Engage in scholarship activities, including presenting research at conferences and publishing articles in areas of expertise
Collaborate with other clinical faculty and academic faculty to promote the research goals of the department

Service:
Coordinate Admissions and Orientation for new students
Advise the ETSU Chapter for the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA)
Delegate and monitor student graduate assistant (GA) positions within the department
Engage in service activities at the departmental, university, professional, and community levels

Required Qualifications
 

• Au.D. and/or Ph.D. in Hearing Science, Audiology, or related discipline
• Hold ASHA certification in audiology (CCC-A) and meet ASHA requirements for clinical supervision of students
• Eligible for Tennessee licensure to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time experience as a clinical audiologist
• Three (3) years of experience supervising Au.D. students
• Teaching experience within an Au.D. program
