Senior Brand Strategist


Position Summary

The Senior Brand Strategist serves as a strategic leader responsible for developing and guiding brand, marketing, and communications strategies for a portfolio of clients. This role combines market intelligence, consumer insights, business strategy, creative collaboration, and client leadership to create meaningful brand differentiation and measurable business results.

The ideal candidate is a curious thinker, strong communicator, and trusted advisor who can translate business objectives into actionable brand strategies while collaborating effectively with clients, creative teams, and agency leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Positioning
• Lead discovery, research, and strategic planning initiatives for clients across multiple industries.
• Develop brand positioning, value propositions, messaging frameworks, and brand architecture recommendations.
• Conduct competitive analyses, market assessments, audience research, and customer journey mapping.
• Identify opportunities for brand growth, differentiation, and market expansion.
• Translate business goals into comprehensive marketing and brand strategies.

Client Leadership
• Serve as a primary strategic advisor for assigned client accounts.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and strategic planning sessions.
• Present strategic recommendations and campaign concepts to executive-level client teams.
• Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and strategic guidance.
• Help identify additional opportunities to support client growth and success.

Marketing Strategy
• Develop integrated marketing strategies encompassing digital, content, social media, paid media, public relations, and traditional channels.
• Establish campaign objectives, audience targeting strategies, and measurement frameworks.
• Analyze marketing performance data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Guide annual marketing plans and long-term growth initiatives.

Creative Collaboration
• Partner with creative, content, digital, and account service teams to ensure strategic alignment throughout project execution.
• Develop creative briefs and strategic foundations for campaigns and brand initiatives.
• Review creative work to ensure consistency with established brand strategy and objectives.
• Provide strategic feedback that strengthens messaging and overall effectiveness.

Research & Insights
• Monitor consumer behavior, industry trends, and emerging market opportunities.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support strategic recommendations.
• Synthesize complex information into clear, compelling insights and presentations.
• Maintain expertise in branding, marketing, communications, and business strategy best practices.

Agency Leadership
• Contribute to agency thought leadership, business development, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Participate in new business pitches and proposal development.
• Mentor junior strategists, account managers, and team members.
• Support continuous improvement of agency strategic processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing strategy, agency account planning, or related roles.
• Demonstrated experience developing brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and integrated marketing strategies.
• Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Experience leading client relationships and presenting to executive stakeholders.
