Grade: 16

 

Benefits included in the total value of remuneration package (Pension; 13^th Cheque; Medical Aid; Housing Subsidy; Loco Allowance) are payable in accordance with the rules/ requirements of the respective benefit schemes and any revisions that may occur from time to time which may alter the total value of remuneration package. A car Allowance maybe payable and a non-pensionable Market Allowance may be payable in terms of the Scarce Skills Policy.

 

• Identifies with the Technical Service approach with respects to service delivery, and defines, implements and monitors the short term plans/objectives for the Fleet Maintenance functionality. 
• Manages the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel within the Section.

 • Manages and controls the operating expenditure against the approved budget allocations. 

• Contributes to the formulation of specific contracts and tender documents and controls contractual obligations. 
• Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work sequences and requirements associated with the functionality.

 • Directs and controls key deliverables associated with the Fleet Maintenance Mechanical Workshop. 

• Analyses and provides guidance on major mechanical, hydraulic and related technical applications associated with heavy Mechanical Plant repair and maintenance requirements.

 • Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:
•Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Transportation Management or Mechanical Engineering or any other related and equivalent qualification.
•Valid motor vehicle driving license.
•6 Years relevant experience.
•Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:
•Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in Transport Management or Mechanical Engineering or any other related and equivalent qualification.
•7 Years relevant experience.
