Key Responsibility Areas:

•  Manages the development engineering branch.
• Advises relevant committees.
• Assists the deputy Director: Development engineering in formulating strategic direction for the department.
• Keep abreast of relevant legislation and makes suggestions to the deputy head.
• Provides technical support and engineering inputs to client departments, as required by Deputy Director.
• Plans the branch's activities.
• Assists the Deputy Director: Development engineering in formulating capital and operating
  budgets.
• Implements the branch's plans.
• Monitors and reviews performance within the branch.
• Reports to the Deputy Director: Development engineering on performance.
• Prepares tender reports and other project related reports and presents them to the relevant
  committees.
• Maintains statistics and project records related to functions.
• Deals with ad hoc issues.
• Manages and controls the branch staff.
• Deputises for the Deputy Director: Development engineering as required.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Civil
  Engineering.
•  Registered as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa
  (ECSA).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 8 Years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration.
