About the Position

Company is seeking a compassionate, experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide dedicated in-home care for an enjoyable, oriented 80 year-old woman recovering from a stroke with primarily mobility needs. Care takes place in a supportive family home (good natural lighting) with a focus on stability, safety, and one-on-one personalized care. This position is ideal for a caregiver who is patient, skilled, and committed to helping with recovery and daily living. Recovering woman is positive, sociable and easy to work with.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care
  • Provide mobility and transfer support, including safe use of gait belts, walkers, or other devices
  • Lifting and transferring; Life, move, and transport patients' safety between beds, chairs, stretchers while using proper lifting techniques. 
  • Heavy Lifting: The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds, including moving or transferring patient. 
  • Support stroke recovery needs, including range-of-motion exercises as directed
  • Monitor vital signs, note changes in condition, and provide medication reminders
  • Prepare meals, support feeding as needed, and follow dietary guidelines
  • Perform light housekeeping to maintain a safe environment
  • Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional reassurance
  • Document care activities and communicate regularly with family members
  • Assist with transportation to appointments when necessary
  • Follow all care plans, safety guidelines, and mobility protocols

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Active CNA certification (required)
  • Previous experience caring for clients recovering from stroke (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Strong skills in mobility support and safe transfers
  • Excellent communication, patience, and reliability
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a consistent schedule
  • Valid driver’s license
