We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial market sector. This position is responsible for leading the electrical design on a variety of projects, managing project schedules, budgets, and teams, and ensuring the highest quality of work is maintained. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in Austin, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently, from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
Oversee all phases of the project cycle, including finalizing scope of projects, preparing bid summaries, and compiling project budgets and cost estimates
Monitor project financial performance, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability
Manage work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts using Ajera software
Serve as point of contact for clients, architects, subcontracts, and design teams, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure electrical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
Attend project site visits and meetings as needed for project development, design reviews, and construction administration
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various electrical systems
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university
Professional Engineer License in Texas
Significant experience in electrical engineering within the MEP industry, with a proven track record of successful project management
Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems design principles and methodologies, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, establish milestones, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery
Knowledge of electrical practices and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively
