About this role
Positions are available for Arizona DPS Certified school bus drivers.
Essential Job functions:
- Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes while following all applicable Arizona traffic laws and school transportation regulations.
- Safely transport K-12 students to and from school, extracurricular activities, filed trips, athletic events, and other authorized activities.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment on the bus.
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, stops, and transportation procedures.
- Monitor student behavior and address concerns professionally and appropriately.
- Assist students with entering and exiting the bus safely, including students who may require additional assistance.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Tr4ansportation Department regarding delays, route changes, student concerns, vehicle issues, and emergencies.
- Follow established procedures for accidents, emergencies, evacuations, severe weather, and other unexpected situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and treat students, families, and school staff with professionalism and respect.
- Complete required transportation logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Participate in required safety meetings, training, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Possess the required Commercial Driver License (CDL) and applicable school bus and passenger endorsements.
- Possess current and valid IVP Card.
- Meet applicable Arizona Department of Public Safety and school transportation requirements.
- Meet applicable medical and physical requirements for the position.
- Ability to work Split-Shift Schedules, field trips, and extracurricular transportation.
Part- Time- Afternoon and field trip shift, with the possibility of full time.
