At Edgewise, we are focused on advancing novel, muscle-targeted therapeutics for serious cardiovascular and cardiometabolic conditions with significant unmet need. Leveraging our expertise in muscle biology and small molecule drug development, we are building a cardiovascular pipeline that includes programs for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure and other serious cardiovascular diseases.

- Perform in vivo studies to characterize and develop models of disease relevant to cardiovascular research programs.
- Characterize pharmacologic responses to intervention and support evaluation of drug candidates.
- Apply scientific and technical knowledge to conduct experiments and studies in the area of cardiovascular pharmacology.
- Lead studies through completion, including data collection, analysis, and reporting of results.
- Document, critically review, and interpret experimental data in a timely manner.
- Modify experimental approaches as necessary based on study findings and scientific rationale.
- Identify opportunities for protocol improvement and contribute to the development of new experimental approaches and technologies.
- Adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior experience and knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology.
- Prepare scientific and technical documentation, including study reports, protocols, and related research documents.
- Present experimental results in small, multidisciplinary meetings, conveying clear and concise key messages.
- Represent the department or function on program, project, or sub-teams as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams by providing timely and actionable study results.
- Apply a thorough understanding of cardiovascular physiology, pharmacology, and related disciplines to support drug discovery and development activities.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree required, PHD Preferred (Pharmacology, Physiology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline).
- 4+ years of academic and/or industry experience in cardiovascular pharmacology, physiology, or related research preferred.
- Hands-on experience handling and performing basic procedures and manipulations in rodent models.
- Experience performing rodent echocardiography and interpreting echocardiographic parameters.
- Experience performing invasive hemodynamic assessments is preferred.
- Experience with cardiovascular disease models and pharmacologic intervention studies preferred.
- Understanding of cardiovascular physiology, pharmacology, and disease pathophysiology.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting in vivo pharmacology data.
- Proficiency with electronic data capture systems and data analysis software preferred.
- Strong scientific documentation skills, including maintaining accurate laboratory records and experimental reports.
- Highly motivated and driven by achieving individual and team goals.
- Excellent laboratory skills with a focus on accurate, reproducible, and high-quality work.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced research setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present scientific data to cross-functional teams.
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies; safe work practices; and company policies and procedures.

Salary range: $90,000-$130,000, title and salary commensurate with experience
