Job Summary:
Skilled and reliable Fleet Automotive Mechanic to perform the maintenance and repair of our 85 vehicle fleet. Our inventory consists of Ford vans, cars, and SUVs. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technician who is looking for a less demanding role maintaining a private fleet and is committed to minimizing vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance and expert diagnostics.
Essential Job Functions:
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute routine inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, NYS inspections for a high-volume fleet.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission issues using diagnostic software
- System Repairs: Perform comprehensive repairs on braking systems, suspensions, steering, HVAC, and drivetrain components
- Fleet Integrity: Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and emissions regulations; maintain detailed digital service records for every asset.
- Parts Management: Coordinate with vendors to source OEM Ford parts efficiently to ensure quick turnaround times.
Position Requirements/Experience/ Education:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair
- Tools:
- Must possess a complete set of professional-grade tools.
- Licensing:
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (CDL is a plus but not required)
- NYS inspectors license
- Physical Ability:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in various physical positions (bending, kneeling, standing) for extended periods.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Ford Factory Training: Prior experience at a Ford dealership or specialized fleet center.
