Staff Accountant, Santa Ana CA.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in monthly closing and production of financial statements to guarantee timely reporting and ensure the information reported properly reflects the division’s financial position.
- Prepares, verifies and controls the entering of journal entries to the General Ledger
- Coordinates the completion and review of the monthly balance sheet and profit and loss statement account analyses and reconciliations, including intercompany activity.
- Assists in the coordination and preparation of financial audits as required by outside auditors.
- Maintains division fixed asset system
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and coordinating the completion of various required reports.
- Assists in the review of financial policies and procedures, as necessary.
- Assists with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.
- Assists in the preparation of various tax reporting requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Accounting with 2 to 7+ years of exempt level experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
- Accounting and auditing principles and practices
- Principles of governmental financial administration including budgeting, reporting, taxation and revenue.
Skills:
- Ability to operate computers and various software programs.
- Strong Excel skills a must. Fixed Asset Software exposure desirable.
Abilities:
- Examining and verifying financial documents and reports
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports and analyses.
Supervise, train and evaluate clerical and technical staff
Minimum Salary Range: $72,000 - $85,000
