Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Urgent & Primary Care

DOCCS is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our established outpatient practice in Melbourne, Florida. The position provides a combination of urgent care and primary care in a fast-paced clinical environment serving patients of varying ages and medical needs.

We welcome both experienced providers and qualified new graduates. Compensation within the posted range will be based on experience and qualifications.

The position offers a varied clinical mix of acute care and ongoing primary care. Providers work alongside physicians, other advanced practice providers, trained medical assistants, and front-office staff. This is a full-time position with scheduled weekday and rotating weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and routine medical conditions
• Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, develop treatment plans, and document patient care
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications and treatments within applicable scope of practice
• Perform appropriate outpatient and urgent-care procedures based on training and competency
• Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and ongoing primary-care management when appropriate
• Work collaboratively with physicians, other providers, medical assistants, and front-office staff
• Maintain timely and accurate medical records

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Eligible for or currently holding the appropriate Florida PA or APRN license
• Appropriate national certification/credentialing required for practice
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy outpatient environment
• Urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
• New graduates are encouraged to apply
