IT & Infrastructure Manager
About this role
In this role, you’ll own our IT environment end to end, from infrastructure and platforms to the employee experience, and turn technology into real impact: faster ways of working, less friction, smarter decisions, and meaningful AI adoption.
You’ll lead a small team while staying hands-on, partnering across the business to turn capability into outcomes. If you want to drive change, not just keep the lights on, this is the role for you.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure and operations with hands-on delivery across cloud and on-prem
- Strong expertise across Azure and the Microsoft stack
- Experience with both Windows and Linux environments
- Solid networking and connectivity experience
- Experience leading small teams while remaining technical and hands-on
- Strong troubleshooting skills with excellent stakeholder communication
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of new technologies such as automation or AI
- Experience deploying or owning Microsoft Copilot is highly desirable
- Understanding of security and IP implications of AI rollout
- Exposure to compliance, risk, and regulatory environments
- A commercial, outcome-focused mindset with a track record of improving user experience and business performance
- Own IT operations across infrastructure, systems, networks, and end-user environments
- Deliver a seamless, reliable, and responsive technology experience for all employees, including executives
- Lead the service desk experience end to end, partnering with the MSP for L1 and L2 while owning L3 and L4 support
- Act as the escalation point for complex issues and ensure fast, high-quality resolution
- Manage our hybrid environment, cloud and on-prem
- Oversee Microsoft ecosystem including Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Exchange, and Defender
- Maintain Linux and Windows environments, with HPC or EDA experience a plus
- Own patching, upgrades, monitoring, performance, and capacity planning
- Manage storage, backups, disaster recovery, and connectivity including WAN, LAN, and remote access
- Lead and mentor a small IT team
- Own vendor, MSP, and partner relationships including contracts, procurement, and budgets
- Improve IT service management practices across incident, problem, and change processes
- Identify and deliver initiatives that reduce friction, improve efficiency, and lower cost
- Champion Microsoft Copilot and lead AI adoption across the organisation
- Partner with teams to turn AI into practical use cases and measurable productivity gains
- Lead AI initiatives with strong awareness of security and IP risk
- Improve how knowledge is stored, connected, and accessed across the business
- Support integrations and automation that remove manual work
- Ensure IT operations meet regulatory and compliance requirements
- Partner with Information Security and the broader business to manage technology risk
- Be part of a deep tech environment pushing boundaries, without needing a research background in quantum physics
