Forward Deployed Engineer
About this role
DescribeMed is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work on customer-facing solutions and help translate clinical and operational needs into shipped software. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team based in Miami where emotional maturity, strong building ability, and customer collaboration matter as much as technical skills.
What you'll do
- Work on front-end and back-end features using TypeScript, React, Deno, Node, and SQL.
- Collaborate directly with customers to gather requirements and iterate on solutions.
- Deploy and operate services on AWS and troubleshoot production issues.
- Travel frequently for on-site customer engagements and deployments.
- Contribute to product design and rapid prototyping; move ideas to shipped code.
- Participate in team culture and support logistics during travel (Airbnbs, transportation).
What DescribeMed is looking for
- Experience with the stack: TypeScript, SQL, React, Deno, Node, and AWS.
- Comfortable working in-person in Miami; DescribeMed is open to candidates relocating from anywhere in the US.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
- Strong customer-facing skills and ability to collaborate directly with clinical or operational teams.
- High emotional maturity and cultural fit — described as “chill.”
- Strong building ability — described as “cracked”; ability to ship reliable software quickly.
- Values hustle; open to new grads (including very early-career candidates).
- Compensation: base $70k–$80k (slightly negotiable) with total comp target $120k–$150k including food, housing, transportation coverage, equity, and travel expenses.
