Purpose
The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, building, and developing new clients’ business by pursuing new opportunities and cultivating relationships with existing clients. This position is responsible for prospecting within the assigned territory, delivering presentations to introduce DAVACO’s capabilities and driving a high level of new client revenue. This sales leader must Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and is able to communicate complex concepts and business issues to a variety of audiences. In addition, this position provides a high level of expertise and direction for the day-to-day management of bid packages in the pipeline.
Essential Functions
- Identifies and evaluates new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, attendance and participation with various industries and professional groups.
- Responsible for driving high volume sales across multiple verticals and lines of business within assigned territory.
- Ability to lead complex sales processes that involve multiple team members and decision makers at the C-suite level.
- Responsible for the development of new business more than $10m per year
- Provides clients with specific opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the proposal preparation and delivery process.
- Broad understanding of construction drawings and key industry trends.
- Creative commercial leaders are confident in navigating through structured organizations and identifying decision makers.
- Create effective marketing strategies, value proposition statements, technology positioning, pricing, branding, and communication strategies in conjunction with internal marketing team to position DAVACO for marketplace wins.
- Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of employees.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Minimum ten years’ direct business development experience with preferred experience within light construction, remodeling, retail, and roll outs knowledge inside consumer shopping/guest environments.
- In depth knowledge in one of the vertical markets such as: retail, restaurant, grocery, healthcare, automotive, banking
- Proven track record of building and expanding relationships within a vertical marker.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in Project Management software a plus
