What You'll Do
As an AV Service Technician, you will provide maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and support for commercial audiovisual systems throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair commercial audio visual systems
- Troubleshoot complex AV, video conferencing, and control system issues
- Perform service calls and preventative maintenance on installed AV systems
- Configure and support AV control platforms such as Crestron and AMX
- Install, configure, and calibrate audio and video equipment
- Service projection systems, displays, DSPs, switchers, and presentation systems
- Perform rack modifications and equipment upgrades
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Document service activities and communicate findings with customers and internal teams
- Provide excellent customer service while representing DataVox at client sites
- Assist with commissioning and system optimization as needed
Who You Are:
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial AV installation, commissioning, or service experience
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex AV systems
- Experience working in commercial construction environments
- Experience with AMX and/or Crestron control systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Commercial Audio Visual Systems
- Video Conferencing Technologies
- AV Control Systems
- Audio DSP Platforms
- Video Switching & Distribution
- Projectors and Large Format Displays
- Basic knowledge of:
- Networking fundamentals
- TCP/IP networking
- Routers and switches
- IP-based AV technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) Certification
- CTS-I or CTS-D Certification
- Experience with Audio Architect, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar DSP platforms
- AutoCAD, AudioCAD, or VidCAD experience
- Experience with enterprise conference room technologies

Physical Demands: Work involves standing, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stand, stoop, kneel, drive and reach. Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment; and ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in inclement weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Work on job sites require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
