Job Summary:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for designated resource area. Support execution of daily production plan. Assist and trouble shoot the set up, programming, and operations of machine tools and production processes. Conduct First Article Inspections and provide feedback to team members to ensure specification conformance and serve as the first level of escalation of production opportunities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct first piece inspections
- Set up, program, and run various machines
- Program trouble shooting
- Help drive continuous improvement efforts and root cause analysis
- Communicate with Engineering to ensure sound manufacturing processes
- Coordinate work flow, materials and equipment are readily available for team members
- Understand and select tooling
- Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications
- Strong understanding of cutter compensating
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and neat
- Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding, escalating opportunities to leadership
- Maintain simple reports such as time sheets and work orders
- Lead shift hand-off meetings with other Leads and Supervisors
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong Communication Skills
- Must be able to maintain concentration
- Must be able to work while standing
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum one to two (1-2) years’ experience of machining required
- Knowledge of Lathes, Grinding, Turning and Multi Axis machines as well as their functions required
- Must be familiar with types and names of controls such as Fanuc, Milltronics and Prototrak preferred
- Knowledge of Programming and use of G & M codes required
