Start your electrical career with Cummings Electrical!
Looking to start a career in the electrical trade, but don't have electrical experience yet? Cummings Electrical provides an opportunity for motivated individuals to enter the trade, gain hands-on experience, and begin working toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician. We hire entry-level apprentice positions on an as needed basis. Each month, Cummings Electrical selects a limited number of candidates from our applicant pool to join our team. Applying places you into consideration for an upcoming entry-level apprentice opening, but does not guarantee immediate placement.

Apply for a Texas Apprentice Electrician License- TDLR
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and interest in building a long-term career in the electrical trade
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Have reliable transportation
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Texas Apprentice Electrician License through TDLR
- Be willing and able to work in active construction environments
- Work outside in extreme temperatures
- Be dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Be willing to learn from experienced electricians, supervisors, and field leadership
- Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements
- Be willing to participate in required training and continuing education
- Lift 50 lbs consistently
- Climb and work from ladders and lifts, as needed
Getting your OSHA 10 is recommended:
- Enroll in an OSHA-authorized 10-Hour Construction course. It can be completed online or through an authorized classroom trainer. OSHA maintains the official list of authorized online providers
- Complete the entire 10-hour course. It covers basic construction safety, recognizing and avoiding hazards, worker rights, employer responsibilities, and common jobsite hazards
- Successfully complete the course requirements
- Receive your OSHA 10 card. The OSHA-authorized trainer/provider issues the official student course-completion card. OSHA notes that trainers are required to provide cards directly to students within 90 days
