Facility Machinist Technician

Position Summary:

Candidate selected for this position will be a member of the CUBRC Aerosciences Group and will support high-speed wind tunnel testing. Primary responsibilities include operating CNC and manual mills and lathes, with guidance, to fabricate wind tunnel components and models to precise specifications and tolerances. Responsibilities involving both manual and CNC machining will expand as the employee gains experience through hands-on training and demonstrated proficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Machining AOS degree is preferred, but applicants with shorter Machining Certification are encouraged to apply 
• CAD, inspection, and machining experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills 
• Ability to follow directions and fully complete all assigned tasks
• Position may require standing, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces 
• Willing to work flexible or extended hours on an as needed basis

Special Requirements: 

• Must be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance.
