Position Overview:
The Project Superintendent will oversee daily manufacturing operations, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires a hands-on leader who can monitor employee performance, manage resources efficiently, and ensure production goals are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and/or construction processes, team building, and troubleshooting, with the ability to drive continuous improvement on the production floor.

Schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary

Key Responsibilities:

Safety, Quality, and Productivity:

  • Enforce a culture of safety and compliance with all safety policies and HAZMAT requirements.

  • Ensure production output meets or exceeds quality standards while adhering to housekeeping expectations.

  • Monitor employee productivity and foster continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.

  • Provide constructive feedback and address performance issues with a positive, solution-focused approach.

  • Develop future leaders by identifying and nurturing internal talent.

Production Oversight:

  • Prepare and submit daily production reports accurately and on time.

  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing build schedules and monitor employee time records.

  • Manage employee hours to optimize productivity and achieve budget goals.

  • Review production drawings and ensure feasibility before execution.

Problem Solving:

  • Troubleshoot production issues effectively and implement permanent solutions.

  • Identify bottlenecks and constraints in the manufacturing process and implement process improvements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive production efficiency using lean principles to enhance output and reduce waste.

  • Collaborate with engineering/design and other departments to refine processes and improve workflows.

Operational Excellence:

  • Spend 90% of time on the production floor to ensure smooth operations and address challenges promptly.

  • Maintain compliance with all company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, structural steel processes, and pipe installation is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process flows and identifying bottlenecks.

Skills:

  • Hands-on approach to leadership, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.

  • Fluency in email, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills.

Education:

  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.

  • Trade school completion is preferred but not required.

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to develop and mentor employees for future leadership roles.

  • Skilled in plant safety and compliance with HAZMAT requirements.

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, and high noise levels).

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling throughout a shift.
