IVIG Clinical Care Manager

About the Role:

The IVIG Clinical Care Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the clinical management of patients receiving intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy across the United States. This position ensures that patients receive safe, effective, and timely treatment by collaborating closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. The manager is responsible for developing individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress, and addressing any clinical or logistical challenges that arise during treatment. By leveraging clinical expertise and strong communication skills, the role aims to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care. Additionally, the IVIG Clinical Care Manager contributes to process improvements and compliance with regulatory standards to support organizational goals and patient safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in immunology, hematology, or a related specialty involving IVIG therapy.
• Strong knowledge of intravenous immunoglobulin treatment protocols and patient management.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and managing complex patient cases.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or advanced clinical certification related to immunology or infusion therapy.
• Experience with case management or clinical care coordination in a specialty pharmacy or infusion center setting.
• Familiarity with insurance authorization processes and reimbursement procedures for specialty therapies.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
• Certification in Case Management (CCM) or a related professional credential.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the clinical care of patients undergoing IVIG therapy, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient responses to IVIG treatment, identify potential adverse reactions, and intervene as necessary to ensure patient safety.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate authorization, reimbursement, and access to therapy.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, track patient outcomes, and report on key performance indicators related to IVIG therapy.
• Provide education and support to patients and caregivers regarding IVIG treatment, administration procedures, and potential side effects.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
