What You'll Do:
Responsible for managing accounting teams and ensuring activities are performed in compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for government services, and with applicable regulatory requirements for commercial work. Safeguards the accuracy and integrity of financial data related to government contracts and regulatory reporting, and leverages Deltek Costpoint and Oracle to support efficient, audit-ready business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Crowley Government Services and Crowley commercial activities.
- Provide clear direction, develop talent, foster accountability, and build high-performing teams in an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Perform statistical, cost, and financial analysis of reports and contract-related data in Deltek Costpoint and Oracle and prepare management summaries focused on CAS and FAR requirements.
- Interpret historical data to assess contract performance and forecast fiscal impact.
- Develop financial reports in accounting systems to monitor trends, forecasts, billing rates, and incurred cost submissions.
- Assist in developing, enhancing, and implementing policies and procedures that support compliance with CAS, FAR, and agency-specific requirements.
- May assist with general ledger maintenance, indirect rate structure support, and internal controls related to government contracts.
- Review direct and indirect costs and perform allowability and cost-benefit analyses for government projects and programs.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. A combination of post-high school education.
Experience:
7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including three years in managerial or supervisory positions. CPA preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, including Oracle and Deltek Costpoint.
Competencies:
Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and financial reporting processes. Knowledge of contract negotiation, administration, and execution, including adherence to corporate policies, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and billing for federal and commercial contract types. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences. Understanding of purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and administrative management principles that support efficient operational and financial performance. Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
