Job Summary:

CPS Healthcare is seeking a full-time Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Suffolk House of Correction in Boston, MA. The Clinician will provide diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and mental health services to an incarcerated population. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention and psycho-therapeutic services to an inmate population.
  • Responsible for completing progress notes and ensuring that documentation meets quality standards.
  • Interrelates and works effectively with other mental health services staff, medical personnel, CPS administration, inmates, and outside support agencies.
  • Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participates fully in all site-based performance improvement activities in accordance with job responsibilities.
  • Promotes effective working relations as part of a department/unit team to facilitate the department/units to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Follow all security rules and regulations.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with 1–2 evening shifts per week from 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. and rotating Saturday coverage. Some holiday coverage is required; employees who work a holiday will receive another day off during the same pay period. 

Salary Range:  

$80,000–$90,000, based on licensure and years of relevant experience. 


Requirements

Qualification & Education: 

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.  
  • Professional MA Licensure Required:  LICSW, LMHC, or LCSW. 
  • Previous related experience preferred (correctional mental health, crisis intervention, treatment of major mental disorders, substance use treatment).
  • Must be able to pass a facility background clearance
  • CPR Certification (Required)

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds.
  • Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
