Site Manager

Costain have won extensive work across the water sector to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. 

Anglian Water has a principal commitment to delivering safe, clean drinking water to all in the Anglian region. To uphold this commitment, it has an ongoing programme of capital investment to maintain and improve its water storage assets. As part of a structured process, the requirement includes draining down and inspecting these storage point assets so that a scope of work can be established, followed by the completion of the required work and then bringing the assets back online. This is a very large programme of work with assets in locations across the whole of the AW region.

As a key partner, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the safe, efficient and successful delivery of water storage point projects.

Key locations: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

The Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships with the client and project management team.

• Plan, coordinate and supervise site operations to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently
• Manage the day-to-day delivery of construction activity on sites
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical and other specialist works where required
• Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance on site
• Ensure all works comply with company policies, legislation and client requirements
• Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions
• Monitor productivity and resource utilisation
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Work with the quality team to implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Support commissioning and project completion activities.
• Develop effective working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Attend site meetings and provide accurate progress updates

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the water, wastewater, utilities or civil engineering sector
• Experience delivering construction projects within a live operational environment
• Strong understanding of construction processes, site management and project delivery
• Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good understanding of quality assurance and construction documentation
• Full UK driving licence
   

Qualifications

• Relevant construction qualification or equivalent experience
• SMSTS qualification
•  Relevant CSCS card 

• Lift Supervisor
