Senior SHE Advisor (Nights)

Costain have been appointed as Delivery Integration Partner by National Highways (NH) for delivery of the £240m rebuild of the Simister Island M60/M62/M66 interchange (M60 Junction 18), north of Manchester. As Delivery Integration Partner, Costain will overhaul the busy junction involving complex traffic management to keep tens of thousands of vehicles moving whilst construction takes place.

The Senior SHE Advisor (Nights)  to support the Contract SHE functions, provide, and support SHE solutions and enable the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the SHE Management System. The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, whilst providing an independent and objective view of SHE Performance on the Contract.

The position will be working night shift (a standard 45 hr contract), the actual hours will be agreed with the individuals to suit them and the site work profile from November for a minimum of 2 years.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Support and Influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other Stakeholders in compliance with the SHE Management System and Contract SHE Performance
• Support and where required deliver training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the SHE Management System 
• Coach and support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract SHE requirements
• Where required be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors
• Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives 
• Actively engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
• Actively support the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the SHE Management System 
• Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and where required support the development and implementation of data-based improvement plans

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Significant relevant SHE experience in relevant industry

Qualifications

Essential

• Tech. IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent

 

Desirable

• Cert IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
• NEBOSH Occupational Safety Diploma or Environmental Diploma or equivalent
