We are seeking a self-motivated Extractions Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Operations team. Under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager, the Extractions Lab Technician is responsible for preparing biological specimens for analysis using confirmation instrument technology. This includes handling urine and oral fluid specimens, performing sample preparation and extraction of analytes, and maintaining strict adherence to chain of custody documentation.

Shift: Various Shifts Available - To Be Discussed During an Interview
Pay Rate: $19.50-20.00 per hour
Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Qualifications - Extractions Lab Technician

Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre-Med, Forensics, or Toxicology) required
Laboratory experience preferred
Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required
Strong hand-eye coordination required
Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy required

Primary Responsibilities - Extractions Lab Technician:

Aliquot urine and/or oral fluid specimens for sample preparation procedures
Perform sample preparation techniques including specimen hydrolysis, solid phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction in accordance with laboratory SOPs
Prepare samples for liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) analysis
Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed
Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
Troubleshoot issues as necessary and escalate when appropriate
Maintain accurate records associated with specimen preparation and chain of custody
Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with education, training, and abilities
