About this role

As a member of the global genetic counseling team, the International and Operational Genetic Counselor (IOGC) utilizes their practical genetics knowledge to maintain high laboratory standards of genetic testing services. The IOGC works to support delivery of genomic services, including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). Provides clinical support for CooperSurgical laboratory operations and both clinical and technical support for external clients. Key participant in improvement of delivered PGT product and in departmental contributions to the broader CooperSurgical organization.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Qualifications

  • MS degree in Human Genetics or equivalent field from American Board of Genetic Counseling accredited institution, or its international equivalent 
  • American Board of Genetic Counseling board certified 
  • Holds or is able to obtain genetic counseling license in appropriate states
  • Three years of relevant genetic counseling work experience, including at least one year in a laboratory setting
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently manage complicated scenarios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time using computer equipment in normal office conditions; occasional need for domestic and/or international travel (<10%) 
  • Passing of background check which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction history, educational and driving records.

Your recruitment team will be able to share more information about any variable pay opportunity and benefit package that accompanies this role. The good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $85,000 to $100,000. The actual amount offered is determined by a number of factors including but not limited to location, skills and experience.
