The Role
The Assembly Operator is responsible for building mechanical and electrical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role supports production operations by assembling, inspecting, and testing components in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working with hand tools and basic measurement equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

What will I be delivering?
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components following work instructions and engineering drawings
  • Build cable and wire harness assemblies to manufacturing specifications
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment to complete assemblies
  • Perform crimping, soldering, heat shrinking, and cable routing as required
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
  • Identify defects or discrepancies and escalate issues to the appropriate team member or supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Accurately complete production documentation and track work orders
  • Support continuous improvement and meet production goals as part of the team

What are we looking for?
Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions
  • Experience using hand tools and basic measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, multimeters preferred)
  • Familiarity with cable assembly, crimping, soldering, and wire harness work is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow effectively
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace, electronics, or precision manufacturing
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certification
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Prior experience in a production or assembly environment
