Forward Deployed Engineer
About this role
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 1-5 years of experience to own end-to-end technical delivery of AI-native software products for state, local, and federal government clients. You'll be a high-agency, customer-facing full-stack engineer who pairs with a Forward Deployed PM to design, build, and ship modernized systems that replace decades-old government infrastructure — working directly with civil servants and delivering real impact for public services.
What will you be doing?
Owning entire projects end-to-end: meeting with government clients, designing the solution, building it, and delivering it
Using AI-native coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) daily to build and iterate at speed against live customer requirements
Designing reusable scaffolding — components, data models, and workflows — that compounds across future deployments
Working directly with non-technical government stakeholders (~25% client-facing, ~75% building)
Occasional travel to client sites (roughly 5 days per quarter) to understand needs and deliver projects in person
