About this role

The purpose of this position is to provide customer service through telephone or direct contact and perform clerical functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Responds to telephone or UNICOM inquiries for a variety of information.
  • Assists customers by obtaining information or records, responding to inquiries, directing visitors to proper department, and scheduling appointments.
  • Prepares, verifies, and balances a variety of routine logs and reports.
  • Performs office duties by filing, typing, sorting and delivering messages and packages and ensuring proper supply inventory and equipment functioning.
  • Documents customer information from the general public regarding complaints, service requests, commendations, surveys, and general inquiries.

 Supplemental Functions:

  • Performs other similar duties as required.

 Job Specifications and Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Customer service principles and practices;
  • Modern office equipment;
  • Basic mathematical concepts.

 Licensing and Certifications:

  • None Required.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, kneeling, vision, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, talking. 
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly AND/OR walking or standing to a significant degree. 
  • Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, noise and vibrations.
  • Some weekends, holidays and overnights required. This will be a 12 hour shift that can be scheduled within 6am-midnight.
