Overview

As a Grounds & Maintenance team member, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of our CFS communities. You’ll be responsible for landscaping, grounds keeping, basic building maintenance, and completing work orders across multiple locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing excellent service to residents, families, and team members. You’ll work closely with Facilities Leadership and team members to ensure our communities remain clean, well-maintained, and welcoming every day.

 

Pay: Starting at $16/hr

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Must be available for on call after hours.

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and good driving record
  • Two years of landscaping experience preferred
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping and power equipment
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills to complete work orders
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to exercise good judgment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and weather conditions
  • Availability for emergency and snow removal needs during winter months
  • 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Performs grounds keeping and building maintenance for all CFS building locations to include:
  • Mowing
  • Planting flowers, shrubs, grass and bushes.
  • Trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, and spraying weeds.
  • Spreading mulch and completes edging
  • Operates a variety of equipment and machines including saws, power tools, mowers, blowers, and salt spreaders
  • Manages workload through work order system.
  • Completes work orders within an acceptable period of time.
  • Regularly travels between different facilities to complete projects/work orders.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisor and team about issues or facility concerns.
  • Maintain positive cooperative working relationship by working, acting, and communicating with various personalities, getting along with residents, co-workers, families, contractors and visitors.
  • Respectfully communicates with residents, families, and staff regarding any maintenance issues.
  • During times when unable to work outside, must be able to complete basic maintenance tasks within the buildings such as changing lights, cleaning carpets, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.


Qualifications

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses or other required certifications: Must maintain a valid driver license, vehicle liability insurance, and a good driving record

Experience: Minimum of two year’s experience working in a landscaping related field is preferred

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

  • Must be able to operate outdoor equipment including but not limited to chainsaws, blowers, weed eater, mower, etc. safely and effectively.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds and have the physical mobility for bending, stooping and climbing ladders
  • Must be able to work as a member of a team
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and possess excellent judgment.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary to include email communication, and the ability to use an iPhone to complete work orders within our system.
  • Flexible and adaptable in coping with pressures, deadlines, and rapidly changing situations.
  • Be available 24/7 for emergencies/snow removal in winter.
  • Possess and exemplify a high level of customer service
