Job Title: Warehouse Lead

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt   

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Lead plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, shipping out, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or internal transfers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so tires and products are distributed to proper locations in an effective and efficient manner from the main warehouse(s). Leads maybe assigned a particular distribution line to oversee (shipping out or receiving in). 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewed incoming material and requests documents and organizes the workflow for most effective and efficient work patterns. 
  • Organizes employees daily work to meet incoming and or outgoing material needs. 
  • Communicates with employees to make sure they understand the daily expectations. 
  • Does all needed computer work to ensure proper documentation. 
  • Follow up with employees to make sure the business needs are being met. 
  • Ensures maintenance, appearance and condition of the warehouse complies with security, safety, and environmental codes and city ordinances.
  • Coordinates efficient route schedules
  • Leads safety in the warehouse and ensure that programs such as Stretch and Flex are being done daily as required. 
  • Operates and maintains company vehicles and equipment to CT standards, including regular maintenance; cleanliness; fueling & tracking fuel receipts; insurance coverage, general upkeep, inspections, registration, etc.
  • Assists with inventory audits to ensure compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in all facets of a warehouse environment.
  • Conducts consistent inventory checks to ensure inventory is accurate. 
  • Is continually looking for more efficient and effective ways for the warehouse to work. Makes recommendations to the supervisor. 
  • Trains all employees on the forklift and ensures that employees are forklift certified. 
  • Leads the team and participates as a team player in all phases of the organization. Ensure that the warehouse team is supportive of Company initiatives and follows Company Policies and Procedures. 
  • Champions safe work practices and Commercial Tire’s safety guidelines and standards. 
  • Performs all work expected of the location or ensures that all work expected of the location is completed. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – preferred

  • A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record– required
  • 18 years of age or older – required
  • Forklift and fall protection certification within 30 days of entry date
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs regularly 
  • Associates degree OR 3+ years warehouse/transportation experience
