POSITION SUMMARY
Rigging & Automation Technician is in an integral part Cruise Department, focused on delivering a vibrant and "Remarkably Arabian" experience. This role involves supporting the Entertainment Technical Manager and Cruise Director in the delivery of the Aroya Entertainment product to our Guests inside the ship by ensuring the movement of all automated stage equipment, rigging, safety devices and managing the safety of personnel on stage,
The Rigging & Automation Technician must be able to perform a basic troubleshooting of the Automation & Rigging System and related equipment and must be able to adjust to changes in schedules, assignments and deadlines while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Expertise in Rigging & Automation: Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of rigging and automation, with the ability to operate the stage automation control system in a safe and effective manner. Manages the system during rehearsals, shows, set up etc. to ensure maximum safety for all involved. Directs all scenic changeovers and ensures they are completed in a safe and timely manner. Advanced knowledge of technical theatrical productions, and safe rigging practices. Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of backstage environment and operation. Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of various automation systems including (but not limited to) Eris, Nomad, Acrobat, Visual Stage control systems. They will work to ensure a positively, vibrant and culturally immersive guest experience. Must be able to provide quality service and be able to enhance the experience for guests onboard.

Guest Engagement: Provides courteous service to guests and attends to queries and resolves all guests’ complaints immediately.

Communication: Maintains ongoing communication with Entertainment Technical Manager, Stage supervisor and team members to ensure alignment and address any needs or concerns. Ensures any feedback or ‘guest complaints’ are directed to the right areas for positive and efficient resolution.
- Grooming Standards Compliance: Always adheres to grooming standards in alignment with brand expectations and guidelines.
- Safety and Compliance: Responsible for performing Safety, Environmental, and Emergency Response duties as assigned, in accordance with Aroya Cruises' protocols. Attends briefing and meeting as required. Always enforces the company policies and procedures. Inspect and keep updated Auditable records as per QMS regarding safety of the automation and rigging equipment. Responsible for the safekeeping of the entire automation & rigging equipment.
- Equipment Management/Maintenance: Manages the inspection of scenic installations after changeovers with Stage Supervisor to ensure that all props and equipment are secure and safe. Assists the onboard Electronics Engineer (Hotel) for preventive maintenance and cleaning of all automation & rigging equipment and control system. Maintains up to date auditable records of all shows and

- Inventory Management: Conducts monthly inventory counts and daily checks on inventory.
- Time Management: Effectively practice proper time management to prepare, execute and break down set ups and venues for assigned activities and events.
- Embarkation/Disembarkation: Supports with guest flow and general assistance of the Hotel Department to ensure the guests receive a ‘remarkably Arabian’ welcome and farewell.
- Additional Duties: Carries out any other duty which may be reasonably requested by the Entertainment Technical Manager, Stage Supervisor or Cruise Director
SKILLS
- Demonstrates strong command of both verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is desired.
- Capable of addressing issues effectively and developing appropriate solutions.

- Able to communicate and socialise well with peers and guests.
- Must have a positive and pleasant work attitude.
