The Position
Richards is now seeking a motivated Inventory Specialist to help us elevate our Core Richards business based in Cincinnati. This employee will play a key role in transforming our inventory operations This business is comprised of the Jordan Valve, Low Flow, Steriflow, Steriflow Food & Beverage, Marwin, Hex, and Bestobell product lines.
The Inventory Specialist will report directly to Richards’ Materials Manager.
He or she will be responsible for the following
Maintain clean, safe, and organized stockroom and inventory warehouse
Reorganize and relocate inventory within the warehouses to improve storage efficiency, accessibility, and workflow
Label and tag inventory with updated location codes and product identifiers
Work with stockroom staff and stockroom manager to develop and implement new storage strategies
Cycle counting inventory monthly
Implementing process improvement strategies to minimize inventory shrinkage and improve accuracy
Training and supporting staff in best practices related to inventory management
Ensuring proper storage and handling of inventory to prevent damage or loss
Accurately perform inventory transactions using the AS400 operating system to maintain inventory integrity
Qualifications Include
High school diploma or equivalent
Forklift license
Capable of handling 50 lb. to 200 lb. valve bodies and bar stock with the assistance of hand trucks, lifts, conveyors, and hoists
Ability to stand for long periods up to eight hours or more at a time
Must be able to multitask and organize the day’s tasks
Ability to work weekends and overtime when scheduled
Must adhere to all safety policies including wearing all required personal protective equipment while in shop area
