Job DetailsJob Location: Classic Rock Mechanicsburg - Mechanicsburg, PA 17055Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00 HourlyClassic Rock Fabrication is looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Material Handler / Design Center Assistant to join our team. This unique position combines hands-on material handling, receiving, and inventory responsibilities with customer service and design assistance.

The ideal candidate enjoys staying active, working with people, and balancing hands-on responsibilities with providing a great customer experience.

General Purpose of the Job

The primary functions of the Material Handler / Design Center Assistant are to receive, verify, organize, and put away incoming materials; coordinate outgoing materials; maintain accurate inventory; and provide best-in-class customer service to homeowners during their design appointments by assisting with slab, edge profile, and sink selections.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Material Handling & Receiving

Receive incoming products and materials.
Notify and/or deliver incoming products to the appropriate end user.
Verify each receipt has the necessary documentation, including packing slips, to support computer system entries.
Complete daily receiving entries in the computer system.
Send digital copies of packing slips to Purchasing.
Maintain raw material and critical supply inventories.
Maintain and clean inventory areas, including organization of inventory and racking.
Assist with inventory cycle counting.
Maintain required physical counts of raw materials and tag controls.
Process all outbound shipments.
Facilitate the Slab Smith photo process as required.

Design Center & Customer Service

Provide the highest level of customer service.
Answer phones and schedule design appointments.
Assist homeowners with stone, edge profile, and sink selections.
Mark materials for hold based on customer selections.
Maintain the Material Hold Log and update customer holds as needed.
Communicate with the Purchasing Department daily to help maintain optimal inventory levels.
Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the Design Center.

QualificationsQualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
One to two years of related experience and/or training; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication & Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand and interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity, including:

Stooping, crouching, and reaching.
Standing, sitting, and walking.
Pushing and pulling.
Lifting and carrying materials.
Grasping and handling.
Talking and hearing.
Repetitive motions.
Ability to lift up to 125 pounds as required by the position.

Work Environment & Safety

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with occasional outdoor work.
Steel-toe safety boots and safety glasses are required while performing material handling and receiving duties.
Employees must follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
