Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Set up and start up blow molding machines (extrusion blow molding or stretch blow molding depending on equipment)
  • Perform mold and tooling changeovers on blow molding machines according to production schedules
  • Monitor machine performance, make process adjustments, and perform routine maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, process, and electrical issues on blow molding machines, conveyors, and related auxiliary equipment.
  • Adjust PLC/HMI parameters and identify basic faults in control systems (with assistance from maintenance when needed).
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical components (sensors, heaters, switches, basic wiring).
  • Operate machines and production equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
  • Troubleshoot machine, mold, and process-related issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Adjust and fine-tune process parameters including preform heating, blowing pressure, and mold cooling for optimal performance
  • Assist with material management including the processing of scrap and regrind produced
  • Perform mold changes and assist with tooling installations and adjustments for new product runs.
  • Perform minor maintenance functions as needed on machines and auxiliary equipment


Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Electrical systems knowledge/experience required.
  • Strong understanding of PET processing characteristics (e.g., IV degradation, preform handling, oven temperature zones).
  • Knowledge of extrusion blow molding, stretch blow molding, and one-step molding processes and equipment
  • Knowledge of Sidel, 1blow, Aoki, or similar machinery and PET resin is preferred.
  • Experience making adjustments to production equipment processes to change material distribution, weights, heights, and other physical properties/dimensions, parison, etc.
  • Knowledge of mold change procedures (changeover team, setup tech, process tech, super tech) and steps/methods for line changes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs
