SEASONAL SPORTS FIELD/GROUNDS CREW WORKER

HIRING RANGE: $17.50 PER HOUR

About the Position:  
We offer flexible work schedules, ranging from 20-40 hours per week, the opportunity to earn paid vacation time and overtime in the first few months of employment, and we work with school schedules. Most opportunities provide for a six-month season, and, in some instances, up to 9 months.

Sports Facilities for the City of Grand Junction focuses on the maintenance of the Lincoln Park Sports Complex, Canyon View regional sports park, Columbine, and Kronkright fields. Our facilities play host to 4 valley high schools, Colorado Mesa University, the National Junior College World Series, and the Grand Junction Jackalopes. Learn how to maintain sports fields to one of the highest standards in the State, work in first-class facilities, and be a part of the Western Slope’s largest sporting events. 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Maintain the Lincoln Park Sports Complex, Canyon View regional sports park, Columbine, and Kronkright fields.

This position is a safety-sensitive position, which means you will be subject to random drug screens due to the nature of the work performed.  

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Must be 18+ years or older. 
  • Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and, if required for the specific position, a physical examination. 
  • Ability to maintain a great work ethic while working outside all day.  
  • Ambition and a desire to learn. 
  • Passion for outdoor recreation. 
  • Effective communication and active listening skills. 
  • Proclivity for processes and procedures. 
  • Experience with yard maintenance tools and equipment is great, but we will train. 
  • Valid driver's license. 
  • Must be able to work early mornings. 
  • Applicants should be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
