Project Control Specialist III

What you’ll be working on…  

Cost Controls

  • Develop and validate project cost forecasts and estimate-at-completion projections.
  • Monitor contingency utilization and recommend management actions based on cost performance trends.
  • Perform advanced cost variance analysis and support cost risk analysis.

Schedule Controls

  • Lead development and maintenance of integrated project controls systems.
  • Perform advanced schedule analysis, critical path analysis, schedule quality assessments, and schedule recovery assessments.
  • Support project controls health checks and schedule quality assessments for complex or high-value projects.

Risk / Forecasting Controls

  • Conduct schedule and cost risk analyses.
  • Develop and maintain risk-adjusted project forecasts.
  • Perform Monte Carlo analyses to evaluate schedule and cost confidence levels.
  • Develop P50, P70, and P90 project forecasts.
  •  Facilitate project risk workshops and forecasting reviews.
  • Present project performance, risks, and forecast updates to project leadership.

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

  • Mentor junior Project Controls Specialists.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the project controls function.

Depending on project assignment and organizational need, the Project Controls Specialist III may function as a senior cost controls, schedule controls, or risk / forecasting controls resource while maintaining integration across all project controls disciplines.

Responsible for developing risk-adjusted forecasts and communicating forecast ranges rather than single point estimates through integration of schedule risk analysis, cost risk analysis, contingency management, and Monte Carlo simulation outputs.

 

Who you are...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of project controls or related experience.
  • Standard Drivers’ License
  • Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency.
  • Advanced forecasting and schedule analysis experience.
  • Experience performing Monte Carlo schedule and/or cost risk analysis.
  • Experience developing risk-adjusted forecasts.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Utility, pipeline, LNG, transmission, or major capital project experience.
    • Knowledge of AACE recommended practices.
    • Understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
    • PMI-SP, PSP, EVP, CCP, PMP, or similar certification.
