About the Opportunity

Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our CP Kids team starting immediately. This role reports to the Director of CP Kids and works closely with the teaching team and entire CP Kids staff. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM.

As the Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will be expected to:

Play and engage with children while modeling appropriate language and social interaction
Help children gain independence and self-help skills
Run, play, and be active with students
Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a teaching team to help plan and implement curriculum
Build relationships with families and work with parents to help them grow and be able to answer questions (i.e. potty training, sleep, etc.)
Be responsible for the safety of students both inside the school and out in the neighborhood
Interact with parents and students in a professional manner both verbally and via email and other online channels

QualificationsAbout You

You are punctual, dependable, nurturing, and passionate about working with preschool age children. You are comfortable working collaboratively and possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience teaching children 3-5 years old preferred
Excellent references
Have a strong understanding of the development needs of young children
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to stand on one’s feet or long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Available to work Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm
