POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Operate a variety of scrap metal machines. Load and Unload scrap metal from trucks using forklift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting while operating shearing, bailing, and forklift equipment
- Some standing, walking, and lifting when in the yard and sorting scrap metal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work well with other employees.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic reading skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience running multiple machines.
- Ability to drive a forklift truck.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Operate shearing machines.
- Operate bailing machines.
- Sort scrap metal.
- Load and unload trucks in the yard.
- Operate forklift as necessary.
- Ensure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust.
