Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager is a working manager and responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and facility upkeep. This role leads warehouse associates, ensures inventory accuracy, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and drives operational efficiency to support company goals and customer service expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, returns, and order fulfillment.
  • Directs the daily activities of warehouse associates:
      • Hiring and training new employees
      • Scheduling staff for appropriate and efficient work completion
      • Providing performance feedback as needed, and at regular intervals, for the warehouse associates.
  • Maintain a safe warehouse environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular safety reviews, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation, and process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison with the building landlord/property management company, coordinating facility maintenance, repairs, lease-related matters, and site improvements.
  • Manage corrugated inventory and warehouse supplies, reconciling any differences.
  • Coordinate workflow and priorities with Customer Care, Sales, Purchasing, and other departments.
  • Ensure material handling equipment is properly maintained and safely operated.
  • Oversee building maintenance and facility-related issues, coordinating with landlords, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a safe and functional operation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Review warehouse layout and product slotting to maximize productivity and minimize errors.

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with providing direction and working part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent oral, written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with colleagues and customers at all levels by virtue of professional competence, integrity and personal style. 
  • Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
  • Proficiency in Salespad, PaceJet, FedEx Ship Manager & UPS Worldship
  • New location set up and planning experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment. 
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and adapt to the changing demands of each day.
  • Forklift Certification.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, business degree or equivalent work Minimum 8 years of work experience, preferably in distribution or manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.

 

Work Environment 

 

This position primarily operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels from employees, material handling equipment, office equipment, and warehouse traffic. Temperatures may vary throughout the year and can be hot or cold depending on seasonal conditions. The role requires regular interaction with warehouse associates, customers, sales representatives, and other cross-functional team members to support efficient operations and customer service.
